San Fransisco

Sterling had a presentation in San Fransisco over Cohen's birthday, so we decided we'd all go out together.  None of us had ever visited, so we were excited to experience it.  We only had a couple days, but we fit quite a bit in.  It was fun, but all of the hills made us pretty carsick.  Besides that we really enjoyed ourselves.  =)

We woke up pretty early (though the time difference made it easier) and headed up to see the redwoods.

You can't really tell in the pictures, but they really are massive.

On our way back from the redwoods, we took a detour to the beach.  It was cold and beautiful.

I've waited too long to post this, so I don't remember the name of this lookout, but we could see the whole city.

We stopped in China town for some lunch and then made our way to the Ghirardelli store.  This was Cohen's actual birthday after all, so we needed to celebrate!

He's definitely his father's son.  We let him pick out his birthday treat and he picked the biggest brownie they had.  (Not that I am one to turn down a giant, warm brownie). He made a good choice; it was delicious! We are so blessed to have this sweet little man in our family!

Cohen's birthday

Cohen turned 2 this year!  I can't believe how fast this past year has gone! We celebrated his birthday early with Nana and Mapa (Sterling's parents), because we were going to be out of town on his actual birthday.  They bought tickets to a pumpkin festival, and it was so fun!  The weather was perfect and we all had a great time.  They had picnic tables set up under tents and we brought Cohen's gifts and a Thomas the Train cake.  He was in heaven!  Unfortunately Sterling's parents still have all of those pictures, so I will post them when I get them.  Here are a few we got:

Cohen fed the goats and pigs.  We (or should I say I) preferred feeding the goats. The pigs were pretty gross...in my opinion.

Then we each got to pick out our own pumpkin!  Cohen found the perfect one for him.

Preparing for pumpkin decorating. Cute boys! (And I love Cohen's "old man" pjs).

Cohen's pumpkin.  Thank you colored sharpies.

Chicago and Gelato

Sterling had a presentation in Chicago, and was able to stay with a good friend there.  So, Cohen and I decided to hold down the fort here in Tennessee.  Sterling had fun, and so did we, but we were glad to have him home!

We discovered a pretty AMAZING gelato place...yummy!

He is saying cheese, but, understandably, he's focused on other things.  =)
