12 Weeks!

I can't believe Cohen is already 12 weeks old!  He's quite talkative now, and his favorite development is his Superman pose.  All of the following pictures are just from today...and he will hold this or repeat it for 10-15 minutes at a time.  It is pretty entertaining for us and we see it as a challenge to come up with something witty to say...though I'll admit I ran out of comments pretty quickly.

Tummy Time

Cohen had his 2 month check-up last week.  So, he was really 11 weeks for his 2 month check-up, but he's doing well!  He is 24 1/4 inches long (85th percentile) and weighs 11 1/2 lbs. (15th percentile).  They asked how tummy time was going and I told them he just falls asleep.  They brought it up several times and stressed the importance of focusing on tummy time.  Apparently his head holding abilities are slightly lacking.  I'm really not too worried about it, but we've been following the Dr.'s orders.  Here are our results...

Vacation - Philadelphia

One of the places we've been wanting to go since we moved to New York was Philadelphia.  Neither of us had ever been, so while Sterling was on vacation we decided to make a day trip of it.  Just as a bonus, we pulled off an exit to get gas and found a Krispy Kreme and a Waffle House!  (All we've seen here for donuts is Dunkin' Donuts, which in my personal opinion, aren't much to speak of).  Any other donut places all have the cake donuts and that's about it...northerners.  =) j/k.  We also haven't seen any Waffle Houses this way, which makes for a sad Sterling.  Needless to say, we started the day off very well!

First we drove by the Rocky steps (sorry, I didn't get pictures), and then we headed to the Philly Zoo.  It's the oldest zoo in the U.S. and it has around 42 acres.  It was pretty chilly, so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves!  It was really nice, but I think it'd be fun to go back in the summer, and also when Cohen's a little older.

I got down on the same level as the Tigers....it's hard to tell here, but I'm pretty sure it could've eaten my head without any problems.

Then we headed over to Independence Hall.  It was really cool.  Here is the Liberty bell.  You can see the crack in the side.  

While we were here, a kid tried to lick the bell, and got rapidly thrown out.  Apparently it was on a T.V. show...exciting.

We took a tour.  We didn't know this when we went but they only give tours of the second floor (in addition to the first floor) during January and February.  Score!

And, of course, we had to try some Philly Cheese Steaks.  We went to Chubby's on our way home and had some great food!

Christmas

Every year we switch which family we are with at Christmas.  This year we stayed in New York and we were just our little family for the first time!  It was really nice.  We were invited to spend Christmas Eve with another family in the stake which was very nice, and then we came home and had fun with just the three of us!

It must be pretty warm.  As soon as we got him in it, he passed out.  

After our Christmas festivities we decided to go out and play in the snow.

Vacation - New York

Sterling gets one rotation off during the year, and it just so happened to fall over the holidays! Woohoo!  We decided we should take a trip to New York City to see the Christmas decorations.  We came up 4 years ago for our honeymoon, so we thought it'd be fun to make the trip again (luckily it was much closer this time!)
