Watermelon

So, there were a few requests for one last belly shot.  I have refrained from taking any over the last couple weeks, and would normally not give in to such requests.  But...maybe I'm turning soft....so here ya go!

I was telling my brother the other day that the nurses have been so nice to me.  They always tell me how cute and small my belly is.  While I was telling him this, I remembered that Binghamton has the 2nd highest obesity rate in the country.  haha!  Maybe that's why my belly is "so small"!  Oh well....I'll take what I can get!  =)

5 more days

So, after being monitored for preterm labor for 4 months, going to the doctor every 2 weeks, getting ultrasounds every two weeks, and being told to "just make it to 37 weeks" this little man is going to be stubborn (not sure that was really escapable).  =)  It has made the waiting seem even longer though!  Luckily I guess, the countdown is right.  Unless he decides to come sooner, I will be induced Sunday night, with an expected arrival on Monday the 29th!

On a side note, I guess once you get to the end of your pregnancy the What to Expect app. finally tells the truth...but I will still admit I was surprised to see Watermelon on there.

Nature Trail

Before General Conference on Saturday we wanted to get out of the house.  Unfortunately it was cold and rainy, but we decided to go for a walk anyway.  We went to a nearby nature preserve, and it was beautiful! We found a small trail down to a lake, that is our new favorite spot.

I was pretty excited to get my jacket (non-maternity) zipped up at 37 weeks!

Then it was followed up by grilled cheese, hot chocolate, and a nice warm fire with great words of wisdom at Conference.  A perfect day!

Pictures

We decided to take advantage of the Fall colors, and get a couple family pics before the little guy arrives.  These two were our favorites.

This was the original:

This was after playing in photoshop (this one's my favorite):

Apples!

Sterling and I went apple picking with our friend Alejandra last week.  The drive was beautiful and it was a lot of fun!  They had rows of different types of apples.  You could pick them and try them and just take what you want.  We got Empire, Gala, Macoun, and Cortland apples.  We ended up with...well...a lot, so what better to do than make apple pie?  This recipe turned out awesome!  I'll include the link so all can take part in the scrumptiousness.

We found some tiny little apples...not really edible, but cute.

 And the finished product...yummmm!

Unfortunately, it didn't use nearly enough apples....guess we'll just have to make lots more! =)
