Well, I haven't updated the blog in a while. We just have a few things going on...finals (both of us), boards for Sterling, full-time job, finding somewhere to live in New York, and packing! So, a quick re-cap in pictures for the last couple of months...
Sterling was able to present a research poster
at a conference in Miami

And he won 2nd place!

At the same conference he was given
two other awards! A Seltzer Legislative award
(the only one in the state) and a
FOMA Student Award!
We were also able to celebrate the Haring's 25th Anniversary!
Christa did an excellent job with decorations!

And I had hours of practicing fondant (which I still thoroughly despise), and finally made my first fancy cake! And it tasted good too! The two-hour drive down was exciting, but we made it all in one piece!

And finally....we took a trip to New York to find housing. I have to say, after the first day of looking we were pretty depressed. We found ghetto, more ghetto, and pseudo-ghetto. But, the second day went much much better. We found a house that is in a nice neighborhood, and is great! It has central heath AND A.C. (the latter is not commonly found in the homes in NY). We will have a garage, a nice big back yard, 3 bedrooms, and a FIREPLACE! We're pretty psyched! And the fuschia carpet is just an added bonus!
The owner was there, getting landscaping taken care of
(which will be included in our rent, so we don't have to
worry about any lawn care!).

It's a split-level style. This is the dining area....yes, where the carpet is. It's looking towards the bedrooms.

This is the view from the bedrooms looking out over the living area...with nice hard wood floors!

And the fireplace! We are excited to use that! This is downstairs in a nice big room. It leads out to the garage and back yard.

That is so exciting. One of my best friends in the world is moving there in June (with her husband for his residency and her 3 boys). I hope you get to meet them - the Ellsworths. Also, the Bowmans (we were piano majors together at BYU - he being one of the best in the department) I hope it will be a really fun change for your guys. Nice and chilly!
