We decided we needed to visit the Centennial Olympic Park and have a picnic, complete with Publix subs and chocolate chip cookies. (oh how I long for Publix subs....well, and Publix). It was so fun!
Cohen loved to play restaurant, taking orders and giving out "food".
Then we decided to hit up an old favorite restaurant of Sterling's from when he was in high school. We came to the conclusion that the deliciousness of the food was probably linked more to the fun high school memories than to the actual quality of the food itself. haha. It was fun nonetheless, and Cohen sure enjoyed that shake!
While Sterling went away to Oregon for a field study (a meningitis outbreak) we went to visit family in Florida.
These two kiddos are just too stinkin' cute. And as a side note, Kinsley is sitting on the side of the bucket and it's not falling over. Amazing.
I was surprised when Cohen agreed to hold the starfish. It was rather brave of him.
Then I was happy I captured his face when the braveness (is that a word?) wore off. haha! Priceless. =)
While we were in Atlanta we rented the downstairs of a home of a lady that worked at the CDC, Christine. She was so great! You never know what you're going to get when you rent from total strangers....site unseen, haha. But we were so blessed to be with her. She was so hospitable, and so patient with Cohen. They ended up being great buddies, and it was sad to say goodbye. She was from Belgium, and she made us scrumptious crepes, ice-cream with Belgian chocolate (the real stuff) melted on top, and also home-made mac-n-cheese. We were so spoiled!
And, of course, one last baseball game.
We were also blessed to be able to meet an uncle of Sterling's that he had never met before! He and his wife were so kind and we enjoyed a nice dinner together. It was a great experience!
Sterling's last day at the CDC. It was bittersweet - he really enjoyed his time there, but it also meant it was his last day of med school!!! WOOHOO!!!!
Cohen had practiced shouting "you did it, Daddy!" for when Sterling got it the car, and he painted the same saying and we taped it to the dash. I would've like something a little more snazzy, but when you're moving every 2-4 weeks, snazzy supplies are limited. Either way, he finished med school, and that's really the point!
Well, no time to waste. The last day of rotations were May 28th, and he started his research fellowship in Boston on June 1st. So, off to Boston we headed!
What move is complete without stopping for donuts? We're teaching Cohen well. =)
