Bon Giorno

Sterling and I decided a few months ago that we would take spring break off of work and take a trip. We weren't sure where, we just knew we wanted to do it. After he was accepted to medical school, we decided it should be a good trip because we probably won't be getting a vacation for...ummm...I don't know, maybe ten years or so. Then you might throw in a kid or two during that ten year period, and it makes things even more complicated. So we looked for several weeks and decided to go to Italy! We found a great deal, and spent four days in Rome and two days driving through Tuscany to Florence. It was awesome!!! We took over a thousand pictures (don't worry I won't post them all), but I am going to do it by day. So here's day one:

We arrived in Rome around 10:00 Sunday morning. When we got to the hotel they quite bluntly made it clear that we were not allowed to check in until 2:00, but kindly kept our bags for us. So after about 24 hours of travel time we decided to pack in our day. We hit the Colosseum first, then went to Paletine Hill (Caesar's Palace), the Forum, and the National Monument. We got back to the hotel about 10:00 that night exhausted, but it was so worth it.

I don't think this requires labeling.

feet in diameter.

These are the oldest doors in Rome. They still have the original hinges and lock. The lock has one keyand is still functional. They lock it up every night.
