We lived in Binghamton for a year (Sterling's 3rd yr.), and he arranged to go back for a month. As we were driving there we were wondering why we set it up for February. Hmmm...perhaps not the wisest move on our part. =)
This was on our way there. The snow just kept getting higher.
Our view from the apartment
Cohen didn't love the cold (He would tell me he didn't want to leave the car because it was cold), but he did love playing in the snow.
We actually do own an ice scraper. We just left it in our other car (that stayed in Tennessee for the month we were gone). When Sterling went to buy one, they only had this little mitten kind, haha.
Left the water in the car. It still amazes this Florida girl that it actually freezes.
We decided to take a trip to Boston to explore housing options. Well, go figure there was a blizzard coming. (We didn't know that when we left for Boston). We did, however, shorten our trip to try to avoid driving in the blizzard. Unfortunately it came a little earlier than reported and we drove through it. Though we thought we were pretty humorous to purchase blizzards during our trek home, it was rather terrifying and we were glad we made it back alive. What should've been a 4 1/2 hr. trip took 2 days.
This was in the hotel parking lot. Quite a bit of snow.
This just looks like a giant pile of snow....which it is, but there is more. In the shadow, on the right side of the photo there is an antenna sticking out. Yep, there is a car under there! They were everywhere. It took us a while to realize there were cars under the snow.
The housing was provided for our rotations, and we were able to see many of the friends we made during our year of living in Binghamton. It turned out my good friend Jenni was just a few doors down from me! She also has an adorable little guy that Cohen loved to play with. It worked out so nicely!
